2021 Jackson Memorial Wrestling

Eight starters return, including six District Medalists, and will be joined by some promising newcomers as the Jags head into the 2021 season.

The bulk of the experience returning for the Jags is in the run from 132-182, with six of those seven weights looking like they'll be occupied by returning starters. Among them are senior Luke Temple, who punched a ticket to AC in 2020 after placing 4th at Regions in the 120-pound weight class. Also returning in this stretch for the Jags are senior Nick White, and junior Mike Rauch, who were both District 28 Champions last season, as well as another senior, Rob Lagravenis, who was 3rd in D28 last season, and has the potential to have a big 2021. Also keep an eye on returning starters George Ebid and Luke Hamann, who could be in line for breakout seasons.

The lowerweights will be anchored by senior Brett Blaess.  Blaess, a 30-bout winner last year, looked like he was ready to make a bid for AC before having his season ended due to injury at Regions. He will no doubt be looking for a big year at 120 for the Jags. Blaess will be joined down below by sophomore Lucas Pipari, who was a D28 runner-up last year. There's some very talented frosh looking to make an impact down low as well. Among them are Jason Seda, Joseph Weikel, and Cael Huxford.

The Jags will be very interesting to keep an eye on. While they have a healthy amount of proven talent returning, they will also have a young group breaking into the lineup down low, and some new starters joining the lineup in the upperweights where they took a hit to graduation. Still, it's Jackson, and you know they're going to bring it every match.
