Another A-South team that took a decent hit to graduation, and another A-South team that will look to reload as opposed to rebuilding. The 2016 Jackson Jags feature a nice blend of proven veterans and promising newcomers and will look to once again be in the battle for the top spot in the Shore.
The lower half of the lineup features three returning 20+ match winners in senior Mike Spino, who finished 3rd in D21, and juniors Matt McGowan and Tim Hamann, the D21 runner-up and 4th place finisher in R6 at 138 in 2015. Other starters returning include senior Mike Christie and sophomore Ryan Bohringer to go along with a promising group of frosh joining the fold here, including Chris McDonald, Carsten DiGiantomasso, and Brandon Burkert.
While there's not as much experience returning in the upper half, there is still a strong senior presence in the lineup that will certainly help as the Jags break in some new starters. Tanner Kelly (D21 Champ) and Adante Davis both won 18 bouts a year ago and should be safe bets to hit the 20+ mark in 2016. Jay Epperly won 9 bouts in limited action last season, and will be looking to have a breakout season this year with what should be a larger role. Another senior returning is Austin Ostrander. Ostrander missed 2015, but had an impressive sophomore season in 2014, recording 16 wins at 220/Hwt. He'll provide some stability in that range this year as the team must replace last year's starters Brody Graham and Nick Shimonovich.
The Jags will be an interesting watch in 2016. While they are inserting several new faces into the lineup, the proven returners they do have are sprinkled all over the lineup, making the transition easier as they can do some lineup juggling if they need to. As usual, the A-South schedule is brutal, but expect the Jags to once again be in the hunt for the Divisional crown. The team also figures to be in the hunt for their 8th Sectional title as well.

Another A-South team that took a decent hit to graduation, and another A-South team that will look to reload as opposed to rebuilding. The 2016 Jackson Jags feature a nice blend of proven veterans and promising newcomers and will look to once again be in the battle for the top spot in the Shore.
The lower half of the lineup features three returning 20+ match winners in senior Mike Spino, who finished 3rd in D21, and juniors Matt McGowan and Tim Hamann, the D21 runner-up and 4th place finisher in R6 at 138 in 2015. Other starters returning include senior Mike Christie and sophomore Ryan Bohringer to go along with a promising group of frosh joining the fold here, including Chris McDonald, Carsten DiGiantomasso, and Brandon Burkert.
While there's not as much experience returning in the upper half, there is still a strong senior presence in the lineup that will certainly help as the Jags break in some new starters. Tanner Kelly (D21 Champ) and Adante Davis both won 18 bouts a year ago and should be safe bets to hit the 20+ mark in 2016. Jay Epperly won 9 bouts in limited action last season, and will be looking to have a breakout season this year with what should be a larger role. Another senior returning is Austin Ostrander. Ostrander missed 2015, but had an impressive sophomore season in 2014, recording 16 wins at 220/Hwt. He'll provide some stability in that range this year as the team must replace last year's starters Brody Graham and Nick Shimonovich.
The Jags will be an interesting watch in 2016. While they are inserting several new faces into the lineup, the proven returners they do have are sprinkled all over the lineup, making the transition easier as they can do some lineup juggling if they need to. As usual, the A-South schedule is brutal, but expect the Jags to once again be in the hunt for the Divisional crown. The team also figures to be in the hunt for their 8th Sectional title as well.
